Healthy Soil is a Bridge to Prosperity

Science-based soil recommendations and coaching designed specifically for small farmers, helping you improve productivity, efficiency, and long-term soil health.

Built for Small Farms That Need Real Support

Who We Serve

Healthy Soil is a Bridge to Prosperity

SDG Plant Nutrition Consulting exists to serve small farmers by improving understanding of soil system management. We believe productive soils are built through balance—of minerals, structure, and biology—and that improvement starts by measuring where your soil stands compared to the ideal.

By pairing established soil science with practical application, we provide clear recommendations and coaching that support long-term soil productivity, stewardship, and profitability.

Our Philosophy

Challenges Facing Small Farms

Small farming operations face unique constraints, including:

Our Solution

Affordable, Science Based Soil Guidance

Soli Deo Gloria (SDG) Plant Nutrition Consulting was developed to provide science-based soil test recommendations to small farmers operating fewer than 100 acres or managing 10 fields or fewer. These growers often lack access to customized agronomic support due to high consulting fees and limited-service availability.

Who We Serve

Why Soil Balance Matters

At Soli Deo Gloria (SDG) Plant Nutrition Consulting, we believe soil health is the foundation of productive agriculture, resilient crops, healthy animals, and thriving communities. Soil is not simply a medium to hold plants in place—it is a living system governed by physical structure, chemical balance, and biological activity.

Our Solution

SDG addresses these challenges by offering:
We believe that the most productive soils are soils where calcium is free to manage and govern the reaction within the soil system. The ideal soil is dominated by calcium and structured to support air, water, and root growth. Sustainable soil management begins not with adding more inputs, but with understanding what is already present and how it compares to the ideal.

At SDG we align with the foundational work of early soil scientists such as William Albrecht and others who developed and applied the soil base saturation ratio concept. We believe their work was not intended to prescribe rigid targets that must be forcibly altered, but rather to establish an ideal reference point against which soils could be evaluated.

How It Works

Why Soil Balance Matters

Soil ➜ Mineral ➜ Calcium Dominate

This comparison allows us to identify constraints, understand interactions, and develop practical, field-specific management strategies that support productivity, efficiency, and long-term soil health.
